Response to COVID-19
Wings of Hope for Africa
response to COVID-19
No matter what this world health pandemic of coronavirus (COVID-19) brings, Wings of Hope for Africa will continue to help the less fortunate in Burundi, Rwanda and at home in Canada. We are committed to ensuring critical services continue with the families and individuals we wholeheartedly serve. That means providing single mothers and families in Calgary with food hampers through our Hope for Kids Canada program. In Burundi and Rwanda, we’ll be delivering essential supplies like soap; promoting self-hygiene and sanitation; and supplying food and other necessities.
We will also continue to raise awareness for the risks associated with this highly contagious virus as well as promoting good sanitation and hygiene practices. Dispelling rumours and misinformation about COVID-19 will also be important in the communities where we work.
We have provided food hampers/gift cards to 1,850 families facing food insecurity due to this COVID-19 crisis . Besides that, our Hope for Kids Canada program provided financial support to low-income families and single parents of school-aged children in Calgary, Alberta. We have worked with schools in low-income areas to select the individuals most in need of help. Also, we work with schools to identify those in need. We are all in this together! Donate today to help those in need.
