Kivumu Garden – 2nd Nutrition Session – June 2017

Our Sponsored families They are learning through Wings of Hope for Africa how important it is to eat nutritious whole foods. Trained nutritionist recently showed them lots of colour on the table. A diet rich in deep reds and greens is great for the body. Fish, including a fresh favourite known as mukeke, is a great boost for the brain. It’s a smart way to add omega-3 fatty acids, protein and vitamin D. Potatoes, so rich in vitamin C, are among the most popular veggies grown at the garden.

We’re definitely happy to see our self- sufficiency project at work. Wings of Hope for Africa is now looking forward to Phase 3 with 35 new families to participate at the Kivumu Garden.

We’re a registered charity dedicated to family welfare, empowering communities & developing self-sufficiency programs to end poverty in Burundi and Rwanda, East Africa, and in Calgary, Canada.
