7th Annual Back to School

The love of Canadians is shining brightly for 100 youngsters going back to school in Burundi. On Saturday, Sep. 15th, we held the successful seventh annual Back to School event. Former Wings of Hope vice-president Lorry Martin from Canada was among those on hand to deliver the school supplies. With your financial donations, we were able to supply notebooks, uniforms, shoes, backpacks, and writing supplies to 50 children from the community of Kivumu and 50 from Buterere.

of these children have never worn shoes or owned a backpack until now. We firmly believe that education and sponsorship are important tools in breaking the cycle of poverty within Burundi.
